Timeline
The New Narratives Project is a collaboration between the Constructive Institute, 2030 beyond and African media innovators funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. The New Narratives Project is a cross-continental initiative designed to strenghten connections between African and Nordic media professionals and foster more nuanced, constructive reporting on the African continent. Led by the Constructive Institute and 2030 beyond, in collaboration with African partners, the project seeks to counter outdated stereotypes, amplify underrepresented voices, and support journalism that promotes understanding, engagement, and hope.
Through exchanges, field visits, joint panels, and newsroom partnerships, the project brings together leading editors, reporters, and media thinkers from across Africa and Denmark. Together, they explore new storytelling approaches on issues such as climate, migration, youth leadership, and innovation.
