The largest election project in Denmark’s history is completed – what now?

The 2025 elections for municipal and regional councils have concluded. Discover the preliminary outcomes, the effects of the democratic collaboration ‘Your Vote. Our Denmark’, and how the project is now contributing to research at the University of Southern Denmark.

But the story doesn’t end here. The historic collaboration ‘Your Vote. Our Denmark’ isn’t over yet. We’ll return to that.

It ended up being a huge project:

  • 8,000 children and adults took part in 10 election festivals across the country, where the traditional voter meeting was transformed into a three-hour festival featuring Børste, mayoral candidates, community singing, and togetherness.
  • 1,000 political candidates gathered at five major meetings to learn how to run an effective and constructive campaign based on facts rather than attacks.
  • 320 journalists and communicators participated in eight media workshops focused on more constructive coverage of local politics.
  • 356 students from the country’s three journalism programs completed mini-internships at 48 local media outlets – including TV 2’s regional stations and DR’s districts.
  • We introduced the FACT TEST in collaboration with Statistics Denmark and Epinion, making it available to all Danish media.
  • 107,000 Danes took part in the country’s largest opinion survey, conducted by Epinion for the Constructive Institute. The result was 98 + 4 representative studies showing what citizens prioritized in every municipality and region.
  • More than 1,600 articles and broadcasts were produced based on the survey.
And as mentioned, the work doesn’t stop here.

In the coming weeks, Epinion is once again collecting responses from Danes – this time for research purposes: The University of Southern Denmark, in collaboration with the Constructive Institute, will dive into the data to examine the effects of ‘Your Vote. Our Denmark’.
We will return with the researchers’ conclusions in the new year.

A heartfelt thank you to our media partners, educational institutions, knowledge centers, interest organizations, and – not least – the foundations that made ‘Your Vote. Our Denmark’ possible: VELUX Foundation, TrygFonden, Tuborg Foundation, Jyllands-Posten Foundation, KL, and Danish Regions.
