Research from Reuters Institute shows that selective news avoidance is an increasing issue across countries. Furthermore, we see a decline in the democratic self-esteem amongst young people. This is challenging not only for media companies, but also for our democratic conversation.
Throughout the next three years we will therefore visit youth educations such as HTX, HHX, STX, HF, EUD, EUX, FGU, boarding schools and Folk High Schools all over Denmark to raise awareness on the role of journalism in democracy.
The project Democratic Mobilization of the Next Generation builds on experiences from our pilot project Generation News Avoidance and is funded by Nordea Fonden and Spar Nord Fonden. Follow our tour below.
Our goal is to reach 15.000 Danish students in three years.
